Thunderbirds Are Now! Kick Off Gigantic Tour Tonight

Detroit keyboard rockers and Intonation rulers Thunderbirds Are Now! are gearing up and heading out on the town. And the nation. Re-read that in a circus ringleader voice and it'll sound fuckin' intense, guaranteed. The tour kicks off tonight in Detroit, the hometown of these mustache men, and considering the schedule that is about to ensue, they had better shave beforehand or forever hold their peace. TAN! is playing selected shows with Minus the Bear and These Arms are Snakes. Oh, and a little thunderbird-- er, uh, TAN! website update-- informed us that they'd be ballin' at the Bowery Ballroom (alliteration is a great literary device) with Les Savy Fav. Holy shit. Remember that rush you got when Tim Harrington made his onstage appearance during TAN!'s Intonation set? Well, the new gig is similar, except Harrington won't even have to dodge security this time around. Righteous.

According to TAN!'s website biography, the band would ideally like to tour in "a van with an airbrushed bald eagle holding the body of a wolf in its talons. It would be sponsored by Taco Bell and contain a stereo that had Boyz II Men's Motownphilly cassingle [sic] permanently stuck in the tape player. The van itself would talk to us, a la K.I.T. from 'Knightrider'. It would use only beer as fuel and occasionally dispense gold from the air-conditioning unit." Yup, just like my car.
