Pitchfork: Two Gallants Sign to Saddle Creek, Tour

Goofus, beware! Two Gallants are hard at work, and for good reason. You see, not only has last year's The Throes (a rollicking indie-blues-folk throat-scraper of a debut) earned the San Francisco duo critical acclaim (we dug it too, for those with a short memory) and totally unjustified comparisons to the White Stripes (there's only two of them, so they must sound like Jack & Meg, right?), but also a sweet record deal with Omaha's finest purveyors of indie rock, Saddle Creek.

The band informed us via e-mail that they have already finished recording the album at Tiny Telephone studios, and are spending a week mixing it with producer Scott Solter. They also saw fit to inform us that the record has been made 100% with analog tape-- no ProTools for them. Rockists!

Two Gallants will wrap up this month with a quick tour of the UK, followed by some September appointments Stateside, including a set at the Saddle Creek CMJ showcase. All the dates that're fit to print:
