Reverend Horton Heat to Issue Holiday Album

Christmas comes earlier and earlier each year. Even if you skip the mall for two months to avoid being subjected to Muzak, you can count on the usual pantload of staggeringly awful pop, r&b;, and country collections appearing in record stores to gnaw away at consumers' brains like so many tinsel-draped zombies. This year, though, the shitkicking psychobilly trio known as (and fronted by) the Reverend Horton Heat will swim against the tide to release their own Christmas album, hopefully with plenty of grease and grit.

The charitable folk at Yep Roc will be delivering We Three Kings with care on October 4. What you've got there is the basic Horton Heat threesome (Jim Heath, Jimbo Wallace, and Scott Churilla) as well as Santa's helper Tim Alexander on keyboard, pickin' and grimacin' through twelve caroling classics like "Run Rudolph Run", "Jingle Bells", and "Winter Wonderland", plus new original "Santa on the Roof". Tracklist:

01 Frosty the Snowman
02 Santa Bring My Baby Back (to Me)
03 Jingle Bells
04 Santa Claus is Coming to Town
05 Silver Bells
06 We Three Kings
07 Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy
08 Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer
09 Santa on the Roof
10 What Child is This
11 Pretty Paper
12 Winter Wonderland
13 Run Rudolph Run

There's also plenty of live Christmas cheer planned. Along with some scattered dates in September and November, the Reverend has announced a full scale December tour of the U.S. for those in need of salvation during the eggnog month.
