Fifth Cave In LP Out Next Month

Like a real cave-in, Massachusetts band Cave In are sudden, chaotic, and made of hard rock. Unlike a real cave-in, they've never killed any coal miners, or if they did, they didn't send us a press release about it. Cave In will drop their fifth album, Perfect Pitch Black, on September 15 via Hydra Head Records. Hydra Head were the band's label for its first three albums, before the members of Cave In took a little time off from being a metal band to sign to RCA and release a pop hardcore record. Relaxing! According to a live review from last week's Boston Phoenix, it looks like the new record sounds more like the Cave In fans know and love. Tracks:

Cave In plan on hitting the road sometime in October to support their new release. Converge drummer Ben Koller, who replaced injured drummer JR Connors, will accompany the band for the fall tour, though according to his band's website, Converge is also hitting the road at about the same time. So either the bands will be touring together, or Koller's going to have to pull some Scooby Doo-type hijinx, possibly using a disguise, to make this happen. We suggest a fake mustache. Works every time.
