Rob Crow Rocks Out with his (Goblin) Cock Out

And speaking of cocks…

Rob Crow is a two-timing son of a bitch. Apparently he's not satisfied with being one half of Pinback, a more consistent producer of gems than De Beers, because he's got five bands on the side: Optigonally Yours, Thingy, Physics, Holy Smokes and his latest project, Goblin Cock. (Ok, I guess that makes him a five-timing son of a bitch.) Yes, GOBLIN FUCKING COCK. The Cock’s debut record, entitled Bagged and Boarded, is scheduled for an October 25 release on Absolutely Kosher (complete with a phenomenally badass cover design, may we add. We’ll give twenty bucks to the first person to get it tatoooed on their back.) But those expecting more of Pinback's warmly non-committal smoothness are in for a surprise. Goblin Cock is all about (hopefully mostly irony-free) axe-sharpening sludge metal that'll chug harder than a fratboy during pledge week and leave your ears filthy, stinging and ringing. We’re not exactly sure who else is in the band besides Crow, but they’ve got stage names like Bane Ass-Pounder and Braindeath.

A Goblin Cock tour is in the works, but for now we only know that they will be performing at the Mercury Lounge in New York City as part of the Absolutely Kosher showcase at the CMJ Music Marathon on September 15, sharing stagespace with The Wrens, The Dudley Corporation and Get Him Eat Him.
