The Bravery, Maxïmo Park Kick Off U.S. Tour Tonight

The Bravery aren't scared. After performing their brazen cut-and-paste act on the heroes of 80s new wave, the band plans to kick off a massive North American tour starting tonight. Their itinerary will take them to all points in the Union, and they'll even touch a few spots in oft-neglected Mexico, including a set at the Hard Rock Cafe in Guadalajara. The first 10 dates in the west and southwest will feature fellow revivalists Maxïmo Park, who will part ways just prior to the Mexico detour.

When the Bravery return to the states in October, the (International) Noise Conspiracy will come in mics a-swingin' and revolutions espousin', continuing on until October 21. VHS or Beta will take over opening act duties until the scheduled stop at the Voodoo Festival on October 29-- which, you may recall, is traditionally held in New Orleans. The festival's website assures ticket holders that the event will still take place on the scheduled date, but that a new city and new venue are currently being sought. Instead of the slated two days of unrelenting hedonism, the festival's aim has shifted to the following credos: "supporting those in need and to aid in the rebuilding and preservation of the culture and heritage of New Orleans, which has served as home to Voodoo for the past six years." After the relocated festival date, the American tour will trickle into November, followed by a recently announced stint in the UK slated to last until just beyond Thanksgiving. Dates, all 49 of 'em:
