Second OOIOO Album Belatedly Reaches U.S.

With the Boredoms' future looking as bleak and confused as ever, it's always comforting to hear some of their (former?) members remaining riotously active. That's why it was almost as infuriating as listening to Seadrum/House of Sun to recall that Boredoms drummer/percussionist Yoshimi P-We and her semi-solo project OOIOO had released their second album only in Japan. Yeah, there's import to be had, but we all know how difficult/expensive Boredoms-related Japan-only releases are, and for most fans of Yoshimi, downloads just aren't going to cut it.

Thanks to Thrill Jockey, 2000's Gold and Green will see an American reissue on September 13. The album features contributions from Boredoms guitarist Seiichi Yamamoto, Cibo Matto's Yuko Honda, and the 90s David Cassidy himself, Sean Lennon. Dreamy! (The music, that is.) And this is no posthumous pity treatment, oh no, for Thrill Jockey's website kindly points out that "they [OOIOO] will be recording a new album for release in the fall of 2006." Gold and Green's tracklist:

01 Moss Trumpeter
02 Tekutekutune
03 Grwo Sound Tree
04 Mountain Book
05 I'm a Song
06 Fossil
07 Ina No Mori
08 Unu
