Daughters, Some Girls Menace East Coast

Spaz-core aficionados Daughters are always on the road, cramming people’s eyeholes and earholes with one-minute blasts of high-density noize and track titles like “Pants, Meet Shit” and “Nurse, Would You Please Prep the Patient for Sexual Doctor”. But when they set out for an East Coast trek this week, they’ve got something to celebrate: a recent record deal with experi-metal label Hydra Head Industries (home of such ass-kickers as Isis, Jesu, Big Business and Pelican).

The band is in the process of finishing up the full-length follow-up to their 2003 debut EP Canada Songs. Following a weekend of CMJ festivities (and a brief sojourn to Connecticut), these crazy bastards will hit the mid-Atlantic for a mini-tour with Breather Resist and Some Girls (not the Juliana Hatfield band or the Rolling Stones album, but the spazz supergroup featuring members of the Locust, Give Up the Ghost and the Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower).
