Pitchfork: American Analog Set Let Freedom Ring

We still haven't gotten over American Analog Set signing to a Canadian label, but since it's Arts & Crafts records, home of Fork faves like Broken Social Scene, Feist and Stars, we'll let it slide and continue referring to the Austin, TX band as North American Analog Set.

Dreamy Andrew Kenny and co., who play music soft as a baby's bottom (in a good way), will release their sixth full-length, and A&C; debut, Set Free, September 20 on our continent (Europe got it last week, courtesy of Morr Music.) Here's a tracklist to set your mind free:

You might recognize "Play Hurt" from that weird Tylenol promotional AmAnSet / White Magic split EP that fell out of your copy of Arthur magazine earlier this year. Apparently indie kids just aren't in enough pain anymore, so medication manufacturers have been turning to new ways to get us to pop their pills.

(North) American Analog Set have already started touring Europe in support of Set Free, and they'll continue through Japan and across their native continent from now until the end of the year, and maybe even further! And if you miss one, they're doubling it up in a few cities, so get on the ball, people. On that note, fuck this...I'm leaving, too. Go check out one of these shows:
