New Nirvana Compilation to Feature Unreleased Tracks

The rarities disc is a damn fine marketing scheme. Whether it's unearthed treasures by a cult legend or a fancy-pants "we were huge and made a pretty penny and now we can make some more by rearranging our songs and putting them in nice packaging tactic", these babies are often a great way to go.

Somewhere in between is Nirvana. On November 1, DGC will unveil a twenty-two-track compilation titled Sliver: The Best of the Box, featuring three unreleased songs and a chunk from 2004's With the Lights Out box set. According to Rolling Stone, ideas for cover artwork are credited to none other than Love child Frances Bean Cobain...and Courtney herself. At the very least, it'll be a money maker. Maybe we'll even like it. Who knows? Gotta love compitalism.
