Nirvana Rarities Disc Tracklist Revealed

If you're having a hard time separating the wheat from the shaft(ing) while compiling a decent mixtape out of the 2004 Nirvana box set With the Lights Out, don't worry: Geffen / UME is once again shaking up the grunge giants' back catalogue for a cash-in, just in time for Christmas. As we previously reported, Sliver: The Best of the Box will be in stores on November 1 and contains 22 demo and live tracks from the kings of flannel rock.

According to a press release, the compilation will contain three previously unavailable tracks: "Spank Thru" (from the evasive 1985 "Fecal Matter" demo), the outtake "Sappy", and version of "Come As You Are" recorded in rehearsal before the release of Nevermind. The remaining songs are from With the Lights Out. But in the end, who really cares what Geffen releases for bucks, for kicks, or to pay for Frances Bean's braces? Kurt Cobain continues to remain a pin-up for disenfranchised teens and defective adults everywhere.
