A band with a strong international pedigree, Gogol Bordello don't seem to mind living on the road. Starting tonight in Philadelphia, the self-described gypsy punk cabaret group is bringing their high-intensity theatrics to most of the US and large stretches of Western Europe, in support of their recently-released fifth LP, Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike (produced by Steve Albini, yo). What twisted plotlines and costume designs will they unveil? How many venues will they get kicked out of?

Gogol frontman Eugene Hutz is currently earning plaudits for his role in Everything Is Illuminated, the film adaptation of one of the biggest lit-fiction hits in the past ten years. The movie, directed by Liev Schreiber and co-starring Elijah Wood, has already opened in the NYC, LA and several other major markets, but will be incrementally released at 10-20 more cities every week for the next month. Call it a creeping Hutz takeover.
