A Certain Ratio Return to the Stage

Following a year of activity from New Order and the Happy Mondays, it's looking like former label-mates A Certain Ratio will be the next band to join aught-five's ever-growing Factory records roll call. The dance punks are set to headline a launch party for a spankin' new UK record label, This Sound, on October 24.

According to the label's website, ACR will play a live set at their official ribbon-cutting ceremony, dubbed The Sound of This Sound, at Liverpool's Carling Academy. Also on the bill the same night will be This Sound signees Redshed and Paradigm, as well as guest spots from Death by Decibels, and a DJ set by Pirate Radio.

Seemingly elated by the presence of the 70s outfit, a gushing statement from a This Sound label manager recently said: "To have ACR join us on our launch night is fantastic news. They have a strong track record of being adventurous and blending new styles and influences into their music. The recently issued collections of their career's work has brought them to the attention of a whole new audience and it'll be an honour to see them headline our launch night."

Although the Merseyside-located label first opened its doors in January of 2005, the October party will celebrate their first official releases: a full-length album by Redshed, and an EP each from Plastic Eaters and Paradigm, all being issued that same month.
