Xiu Xiu Announce More American Dates

It's not our fault that Xiu Xiu are cloaked in mystery, but it is our problem. Being a news-gathering outlet, we have to worry about pesky details like "who's in the band now" and "how many split singles they released this week" so you don't have to.***

Lately, however, they've ditched the vagueness for some m-effin' details, causing our last few stories on the mopesters to be more "Wow, how interesting!" and less "Xiu fly, don't bother me." Can't argue with that.

Thus, we are not here to tell you about Jamie Stewart's sexual history or his top-secret collaboration with Jeff Mangum and Syd Barrett, but to bring word of yet another American tour. It isn't very long or widespread, but give ‘em a break, they just finished a summer full of touring, and put out five records this year.

Though the urge to sit in your bedroom sipping black coffee and listening to the recently released Life and Live may seem overwhelming, the option to actually attend a show looks like a Xiu-in here. ROFL.

*** The answers to these questions are "Jamie Stewart and Caralee McElroy (we think)" and "two". Gold Standard Labs included a Xiu Xiu / Kill Me Tomorrow split as the September installment of their monthly "Special 12 Singles Series", and a Xiu Xiu / the pAper chAse 7", with both bands doing Nick Cave covers, will come out sometime this month.

If you're panting for more Xiu Xiu wax, the self-released LP version of La Foręt</i> will be available from the band at their shows and via their website. Act fast, because only 400 copies were made, and they're each an individual hand-screened double-10" colored vinyl masterpiece.
