The Killers to Issue Singles Box Set

Like everybody else in your demographic cohort, you just can't get enough of the Killers. But around the 1,491st spin of Hot Fuss, you started to feel like something was missing. "The way this CD plays all the songs in order, it's just too easy," you mused. "If only I was required to get up and, like, switch records between every song. Then, and only then, would I really deserve to understand the intricacies of their music. Help me, Killers. Help me really love you." Maybe you even tried pausing and restarting the CD after each track, but it just wasn't the same.

With their unerring stethoscope-like ear for the pulse of the people, the Killers have heard your pleas. On November 22, Island Records will issue a box set of 11 7" singles, one for each song on Hot Fuss, with some sort of extra track on the flipside. These babies are limited to a measly 5,000 copies in the entire universe; luckily, the overlap between the "serious record-collecting geeks" and "serious Killers fans" sets is quite small.

The B-sides cover the usual array of remixes ("Somebody Told Me" and "Mr. Brightside"), not-at-all-pointless acoustic renditions ("Smile Like You Mean It"), and random covers (Morrissey's "Why Don't You Find Out For Yourself" and Kenny Rogers' "Ruby Don't Take Your Love To Town"). Also included are the three cuts added to the expanded reissue of Hot Fuss.

All these things that they've done:

01 Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
02 Somebody Told Me (Josh Harris remix)

01 Mr. Brightside
02 Under the Gun

01 Smile Like You Mean It
02 Show You How

01 Somebody Told Me
02 The Ballad of Michael Valentine

01 All These Things That I've Done
02 Why Don't You Find Out for Yourself

01 Andy, You're a Star
02 Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town

01 On Top
02 Mr. Brightside (Thin White Duke remix)

01 Change Your Mind
02 Glamorous Indie Rock & Roll

01 Believe Me Natalie
02 Smile Like You Mean It (acoustic)

01 Midnight Show
02 Who Let You Go

01 Everything Will Be Alright
02 Get Trashed

The Killers have just finished touring approximately every human settlement on Earth, so they've started working on the follow-up to Hot Fuss. When not hunting down the latest, most post-punk grooming products, that is. In the meantime, we congratulate them on discovering a reissue format every bit as annoying as their silky red shirts.
