Franz Ferdinand Cover Air on New Single

Looks like you could have it so much better with Franz FAIRdinand. That's right, Franz Ferdinand are covering French chillout icons Air on their new single, and it's gonna be one sexy affair.

The Franz cover of "Sexy Boy" will back "Walk Away", the second UK single from their latest good time, You Could Have It So Much Better. Will this replace "Michael" as FF's gay anthem? We'll know on December 5, when the single hits shelves 'cross the pond in three different formats, courtesy of Domino Records. Here are the tracklists, according to our buddies over at NME.com:

7":

01 Walk Away
02 The Fallen (acoustic)

CD

01 Walk Away
02 Sexy Boy

DVD

01 Walk Away (video)
02 Walk Away (the making of the video)
03 This Boy (live in Edinburgh)

For those of us in North America, the band has chosen You Could Have It So Much Better's opener, "The Fallen", as the next single, because, to put it simply, we rock harder.

As previously reported, Franz Ferdinand's live double-DVD, Franz Ferdinand, tests the waters in the UK on November 28 and arrives in the US December 6. In addition to the, uh, live part, it contains interviews, "Matinee" and "Take Me Out" karaoke, and a documentary entitled "Tour de Franz". Wish we'd thought of that! Also, Erol Alkan's remix of "Do You Want To" has been bumping in da clubs all over Europe lately. It's set to be released as a 12" with the pre-remix version as a B-side on November 21 in the UK, also on Domino.

Franz Ferdinand just kicked off the European leg of their current tour. They will play lots and lots of gigs and then celebrate the New Year in New Zealand and Australia.
