Depeche Mode Tour Kickoff Postponed

The opening show was supposed to take place tonight in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida, but due to the aftermath of Hurricane Wilma, the band decided to call it off. Tickets for the canceled show will be honored at the new tour kickoff, tomorrow night at the St. Pete Times Forum in St. Petersburg, Florida. Refunds will be available for those unable to make the rain check.

This tour is in support of the recently released Playing the Angel, and we thought we were being clever by making some sort of "Touring the Angel" joke, but then we realized that Depeche Mode had actually named the trek that. Bollocks. Synth-pop poseurs the Bravery and girl-group poseurs the Raveonettes will switch off on opening duties. But remember, dear rockists-- being a poseur isn't necessarily a bad thing.

After Depeche Mode finish their business in North America, the band will take a short break before beginning a rigorous schedule of dates overseas that will last well into the new year.
