Castanets to Embark on U.S. Trek

Beginning in mid-November, Castanets frontman Ray Raposa will take his four-piece band out on the road, along with Matthew Houck's folk outfit Phosphorescent as an opening band. For eight dates, from San Francisco to Austin, Golden Apples of the Sun comp alum and Devendra-buddy Jana Hunter will join the band as a fifth member.

After taking a month off for the holidays, and presumably some extra time to shake off Matthew Houck, Castanets will head to Europe, with Hunter in tow. This part of the tour is still mostly on countless booking agents' hard drives, but a few British shows have been confirmed. Shows in France, Spain, and Italy are expected to be announced soon. What, Germans don't like late-night Americana and the occasional drum machine, too?
