Bell Orchestre, Clogs Post-Rocking Across America

Spread the plastic sheeting and secure any loose belongings, because the Monsters of Quasi-Classical Instrumental Side Projects Tour is coming to gently rock your town!

In this corner: Clogs, featuring guitarist Bryce Dessner and violinist Padma Newsome of The National. Pitchfork's review of their 2005 album Stick Music advised readers to "head straight for the thesaurus so you can find fresh and exciting ways to say 'sublime.'"

And in this corner: Bell Orchestre, with multi-instrumentalist Richard Reed Parry and violinist Sarah Neufeld of the Arcade Fire. According to us, their latest, Recording a Tape the Colour of Light, "rewards repeat listens and nurtures those lulled by its intoxicating spumes." Sounds like fun, unless you're the one who has to mop those spumes up.

Brought together by a common love for the work of Erik Satie, John Cage, Brian Eno, and Jim Backus, these two crack units will briefly tour the northeasterly parts of our continent together before embarking on their own separate jaunts. The elegant shit hits the ornate Victorian fan starting tonight:
