Belle and Sebastian Announce Tour

Ooh look, it's turning into Indie Pop Day here at Pitchfork News! Rose Melberg's back in action, the Clientele are spicing up their vinyl with free MP3s, and now twee gods/goddesses Belle and Sebastian have announced a tour in support of their forthcoming album, The Life Pursuit. Alas, only British and Irish dates have been scheduled as yet, so us B&S; fans across the pond will have to keep tugging on the sleeves of our cardigans in anticipation.

If you live in Los Angeles, you can go see director Chris Jaymes' new film, In Memory Of My Father, which features several Belle and Sebastian songs, and will be shown as part of the AFI Fest 2005 in Hollywood on November 7 and 8. If you live in Scotland, tune into BBC Two Scotland tonight between 11:35 and 12:05 to see a Belle and Sebastian performance, including a new song. If you live in Manchester, check out keyboardist Chris Geddes' DJ set tomorrow night at the "Burn Your Books" party at the Night and Day Café. David Holmes and Andy Votel will also spin. And if you live in Slough, well, we're sorry, no Belle and Sebastian for you. You're just going to have to go out and get sloshed with your co-workers again this weekend.
