AIDS Wolf Ready Debut LP
So what's the deal with Montreal noise-mongers AIDS Wolf? Those intrigued will have the chance to make their own assessments this January when AIDS Wolf's debut LP, Lovvers hits the racks of Wolf-ravaged independent music shops everywhere.
Lovepump United will unleash Lovvers January 24 on CD, with vinyl to follow in February via the nutty folks at Chicago's Skin Graft Records. The LP will feature eight servings of the band's "ungodly blend of noise, proto metal, worldbeat and a healthy dose of yelping." We commend AIDS Wolf's press crew for not also calling them "infectious." Anyhow, the sensational tracklisting reads like this:
01 Spit Tastes Like Metal
02 Chinese Roulette
03 We Multiply
04 The Hat Collector
05 Vampire King
06 Panty Mind
07 Opposing Walls
08 Some Sexual Drawings
In quite the incestuous move, AIDS Wolf recorded Lovvers with Wolf Parade's Arlen Thompson. After that they jammed with Guitar Wolf, made sandwiches with Peanut Butter Wolf, saluted Wolf Colonel, won a staring contest with Wolf Eyes, got saved by Superwolf, and were kind enough to call Wolfmother before jetting off to England to burglarize shit with Patrick Wolf. And hysteria reigns.
AIDS Wolf also plan to sire a couple shards of split vinyl in the coming months (worth 15 effing IFL points apiece, old sport). In February, Lovepump will drop an AW one-sided 12" split with GSL's Dmonstrations. In conjuction with Lovepump, California label Strictly Amateur Films plan to make that 12" available in CD format. And Blood of the Drash Records will soon release a split AW 7" with New York's the Fugue. Got all that?
Secret sources have also alerted us to a few AIDS Wolf tour dates, with North American and European tours scheduled for early 2006. Consider yourself beholden:
