Blood on the Wall to Tour With Psychic Ills

Between them, Blood on the Wall and Psychic Ills have supported Calvin Johnson, the Hold Steady, Art Brut, Gris Gris, and the Warlocks in the last month alone. In December, the Social Registry labelmates join forces like a mighty indie-rockin Wonder Twins for a quick-hit trek of the eastern U.S. Form of...an ice javelin! Shape of...a giant squid!:

Of course, Blood on the Wall will follow the tour with a sure-to-be-face-melting performance at Pitchfork's 10.0 New Year's Celebration, 10th Anniversary Party, and Chili Cook-Off on December 31. But you knew that already, and you already bought tickets. Or at least we hope you did, cause that shindig's SOLD OUT.

Didn't score tix? Social Registry co-founder Rich Zerbo said in an email to Pitchfork that the Blood on the Wall/Psychic Ills tour is "not exactly the 180-day label tour I've been trying to pull together, but it's a running start." We estimate that 180 dates should be enough for this hypothetical Social Registry traveling circus to make it to every settlement in America large enough to support any fans of the label.

And check it out: over in Pitchfork's free downloads section, you can check out the new Blood on the Wall video for "Reunite on Ice". But keep in mind that Pitchfork is not responsible for any seizures or migraines the images might cause.

On December 5, just as the road machine kicks into overdrive (woo-hoo), Psychic Ills will release a 12" EP on Social Registry called Mental Violence II: Diamond City. To our ears, the title Diamond City fits oddly for this band, sounding more appropriate to a long-forgotten Trixter b-side, but we suppose they had to call it something, and the whole Electric Boogaloo thing is pretty played out by now.

The Social Registry site calls it "the second installment in teh ongoing series," but we're not sure if that's brilliantly subtle, ironic 1337-speak or just a plain old typo. Two of the tunes are new, one is archival, and psych-revival godfather Sonic Boom of Spacemen 3 was kind enough to remix the title track, bringing the final tracklist of the EP to:

01 Diamond City
02 Days
03 Diamond City (Sonic Boom remix)
04 4 AM

A full-length called Dins is purported to follow in February, barring a catastrophic nuclear attack on the United States.
