MF Doom Plots Short December Tour

"Oh, snap, it seems you walked into a trap through rap / Zoiks, this place is full of pretender willies / One false move and get broke off like ends of Phillies." Now just imagine those words rapped live.

Have you been to a Metal Fingers Doom show, son? He's one of the few MCs that, while definitely increasing the volume of his voice on stage, doesn't just shout his lyrics on the mic. He actually sounds pretty damn close to the calm, raspy-throated, ill MC that he is on record. How does he do it? Maybe the mask helps. Or else it's those "special herbs."

If you haven't experienced this yet, you may this December...if you live in one of six major metropolitan areas in the U.S. If you don't, sorry, the black wookie live show will have to wait. Joining Doom on the road will be the severely underrated Count Bass D, whose last release, Begborrowsteal, is the banger of 2005 that you've probably never heard. Doom protégée John Robinson will also be along for the ride.

As previously reported here, Doom has hopes of bringing the people more side projects, collaborations, and alter-egos in the near future, including Danger Doom, Madvillain, and Viktor Vaughn. His fingers of metal are in many other pots as well, as news of collaborations with the RZA and Ghostface have been blowing around in the void of cyberspace for months now. Some reports have surfaced that the Ghostface collaboration will be called Operation: Ironman, but that is entirely unconfirmed.

Whatever the name, in a recent Mass Appeal interview, the love between the two MCs flowed freely. "Starks is an ill dude. Something 'bout his flows and the fact that he rocked a mask, too, was something that was to be admired," said Doom about Ghost. "He just got a good ear for music and he can rhyme well too. He's a great artist," quoth Ghost about Doom. Love, the smell of new Wallaby Clarks, and just a hint of weed smoke is in the air.
