Wilco, Decemberists Guest on New Minus 5 Album

The self-titled record, which follows up the last proper Minus 5 album, 2003's Wilco-backed Down With Wilco, is being referred to as "The Gun Album" by the band, due to the handgun featured on the album cover. Yep Roc will lock and load the disc February 7.

Wilco play on "With a Gun" and "Hotel Senator", while Meloy lends his vocal stylings to "Cemetery Row W14", and Nelson backs up "Leftover Life to Kill" and "Hotel Senator". That’s one crowded hotel, dudes.

In late February, the Minus 5 will head out on a short West Coast tour with Robyn Hitchcock. More North American dates will be announced soon, as well as a stop at the Yep Roc showcase at next year's SXSW. Unfortunately, the whole gang won’t be along for the ride-- the band’s touring lineup consists of McCaughey, Buck, Rieflin, and guitarist John Ramberg. But who knows who might jump on stage.
