Scott Reeder (ex-Obsessed, Kyuss) Goes Solo
Scott Reeder is more metal than you'll ever be. He was in The Obsessed and Kyuss, auditioned for Tool and Metallica (as documented in Some Kind of Monster), and produced SUNN 0))) and Goatsnake. And on the cover of his forthcoming solo album, TunnelVision Brilliance, due January 24 on Liquor and Poker, Reeder appears topless and underwater, with a bunch of wires attached to his chest. So don't front.
18 years in the making, TunnelVision Brilliance is a true DIY effort: it was written, performed, produced, engineered, and mixed entirely by Reeder, mostly at his own studio. "Death is a big underlying theme," he said in a press release about the album. "[As] is my fascination with the impossible feats the human psyche is capable of when forced into extreme duress - things that push one's reality into the metaphysical realm." Hey! Sorta like Sufjan Stevens!
