Suspects Arrested in Harvey Family Murders

Last Saturday, two suspects were arrested for the New Year's Day murders of House of Freaks/Gutterball musician Bryan Harvey and his family in their Richmond, Virginia home, as well as a series of other murders. Various news sources report the capture of Ray Joseph Dandridge and his uncle, Ricky "Cooley" Gevon Gray, in Philadelphia. They have been charged with several counts of conspiracy to commit murder, stemming from both the the Harvey case as well as the January 6 slayings of Percyell Tucker, his wife, Mary Baskerville Tucker, and her daughter, Ashley Baskerville, in their home.

The motive behind the killings is now thought to be robbery, as police have reason to believe that several items were taken from the Harvey and Tucker households. Dandridge and Gray have also been linked to a January 3 robbery in Chesterfield County, Virginia, and are under investigation for connections to various other recent crimes that have taken place between Richmond and Philadelphia.

The carnage of the killings was intensely brutal, a fact which many involved in the case find surprising after uncovering the robbery angle. The Richmond Times-Dispatch quotes one investigator as saying, "Think of monsters, and it's something worse than that."
