Smoking Popes Extend Reunion with Live Album, Tour

Cheer up, emo kid! The reunion of pioneering Chicago pop-punk band Smoking Popes for the Flower 15 series of benefit concerts last fall went so well, Josh Caterer and his bros have decided to continue the party with a live album and American tour.

Due February 28 on Victory Records, the CD/DVD set Smoking Popes at Metro captures the band's November 11, 2005 performance at Chicago's Metro, the first time the Popes took the stage since their 1998 breakup. The career-spanning collection is actually the band's second live album, following the 2000 greatest-hits comp Live. Here are the songs we have to thank/blame for Fall Out Boy:

The boys will pile into the van for an American tour in February and March, with Victory labelmates Bayside opening. The tour will kick off in St. Louis and wind its way in a big counter-clockwise circle through the South and East before ending up back at the Metro in Chicago, where it all began. Dates:
