The Elected Tour With Stars

In December, when we last reported on the Elected, frontman Blake Sennett was busy wrapping things up on his band's second album, Sun, Sun, Sun (due this Tuesday, January 24 via Sub Pop), contributing to an album by his friends Whispertown2000, and fixing up the roots outside of his house. One thing that wasn't on the agenda, however, was a tour.

This time around, it's the new year and things have changed. Tonight at Hollywood's Troubadour, the Elected begin a three-night record-release campaign. They'll start back up again in mid-February, when they'll meet up with Montreal indie poppers Stars. Merely 10 shows after launching their tour, the Elected will finish up in Chicago. (Stars will continue on with their tour afterwards.) Why are they cutting things so short? Will some Rilo Kiley action follow?
