Pitchfork: The Gossip Kick off World Tour

If Beth Ditto of the Gossip were the Pied Piper, her mice would be young, sweaty, and ink-smeared, dressed in ripped t-shirts and drunk on dumpster wine. Also: no one would use vowels.

Beginning with not one but two rekkid release parties in their hometown of Portland, Oregon for their Standing in the Way of Control LP, which hits stores today, Ditto and her Gossip cohorts-- skunk-haired Nathan Howdeschell (aka Brace Paine, aka DJ Nightskool) and Hannah "Stangela Handsbury" Blilie, formerly of Shoplifting-- will hypnotize the masses on a world tour. The shows are mostly all-ages, start in P-town, travel through Australia and Austin, and finish back in Seattle. You know yr jealous.

Opening acts include the Devoesque Numbers and the whistle-wielding Pretty Girls Make Graves. Bring yr sharpies, kids, but leave the rodent-sized Scrabble boards at home: you hve no chnce @ vctry.
