Neko Case Reveals Tracklist, Plans Tour, Podcast

Moonlighting Pornographer and alt-country super-chanteuse Neko Case is on the prowl once again. The fire-maned lass has revealed the tracklist for her latest, enigmatically-titled opus Fox Confessor Brings the Flood. Due out March 7 in the U.S. (and available the day before to our spoiled European brethren), Fox Confessor will no doubt spawn a deluge of fox-related band- and album-titles in the 2k6. Year of the dog indeed.

Foxy lady:

01 Margaret vs. Pauline
02 Star Witness
03 Hold On, Hold On
04 A Widow's Toast
05 That Teenage Feeling
06 Fox Confessor Brings the Flood
07 John Saw That Number
08 Dirty Knife
09 Lion's Jaws
10 Maybe Sparrow
11 At Last
12 The Needle Has Landed

What's more, Miss Case has revealed exclusively to Pitchfork her plans to boldly venture into the wild world of podcasting. Neko tells all:

"I've wanted to have a radio show forever," Case continued. "Now that there's podcasts...I can actually have [one]. And you can do whatever you want, like satellite radio. You can swear. You don't have to know what you're talking about. You can make shit up. You can play vinyl that nobody's ever heard. You can play ‘Gold Digger' by Kanye West next to Bessie Griffin and the Gospel Pearls next to some Disney kids' record, along with Bulgarian folk singing. You can have it all in one show...I'm very excited about it."

"For the last two days I've been here with my friend Phil who's the sound engineer for the New Pornographers and for me. We've just been downloading my vinyl collection into the computer and I can't get my head around it. It's like, ‘How am I gonna make this radio show and not make it seem like I'm completely nuts?'"

Case hopes to have her Nekocast up and running at a newly-revamped (and looooong overdue) nekocase.com, ideally within the next few months. Until then, tech-savvy friends, keep your Nanos at the ready.
