Dead Meadow to Play West Coast Shows

As it happens, Dead Meadow is prepping for a West Coast jaunt in February (sans Mount Doom), which will include a couple shows with fellow Matador signees Brightblack Morning Light, which may or may not be the name of a hobbit.

In other Dead Meadow news, the band's website hints that a series of re-releases might be in the works, specifically of their previously unreleased self-titled debut and 2001's Howls from the Hills. The site also seems hopeful about Dead Meadow's historic 2002 Peel Session getting a proper CD release in the near future. It was recorded in a Fugazi practice space, and was the first time the BBC recorded a Peel Session outside their own studios. Excellent.
