Yeah Yeah Yeahs Take on New Bandmate for Tour

Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeahs? Yeah! Pitchfork has learned that Karen O, Nick Zinner, and Brian Chase have added a member for their forthcoming tour dates. The guitarist�s name is Imaad Wasif, and if he sounds familiar, it's probably because you've noticed him in such bands as alaska!, the New Folk Implosion, or Lowercase.

Wasif flew into New York yesterday and has been practicing non-stop with the YYYs in preparation for their previously announced February mini-tour.

If YYYs skipped over your city or you missed your chance to pick up tickets (all dates are sold out, sorry), don't fret-- the band has their bases covered. They plan to launch a full-blown US tour in April, after which they will head off for a European jaunt, including a day spent curating the All Tomorrow�s Parties festival in May. Wasif will be with them all the way, and will possibly serve as an opening act for their next NEXT American tour in the fall.

Wait? Opening act? Yep. The well-rounded Wasif does the solo thing too. In fact, his self-titled debut drops April 11 on Kill Rock Stars. Here�s the tracklist:

Finally, our good deed for the day is reminding you about the new YYYs record, Show Your Bones, which comes out March 28 (March 27 in the UK) on Dress Up/Interscope. Bones' first single, "Gold Lion", lands overseas on March 20 as both a CD and a 7".
