Pitchfork: Supersilent Live DVD Coming to America

Pardon the clich�, but the Norwegian jazz/post-rock/experimental/electronic supergroup Supersilent make music that sounds like a fjord melting, then exploding. And come February 21, we can finally watch the band in action, as Rune Grammofon plans to release the NTSC edition of the Supersilent live DVD 7 on that date.

The concert film, which has been out in Scandinavia on PAL format since last fall, captures a sold-out show that took place at Parkteatret in Oslo this past August. Directed by Kim Hiorth�y, the disc contains the entire 106-minute performance exactly as it took place that night, filmed in black and white and without any overdubs. And if you're looking for bonus material, throw on your special edition of Weekend at Bernie's instead.

According to Supersilent's press release, "This is a conscious decision by the director, artist and label. We wanted it to work like a CD, with instant access to the concert material and individual tracks." Guess that means no Easter eggs either.
