My Morning Jacket Demos to Be Released

On May 15, a mere five years after the release of MMJ's At Dawn, Darla Records will release a collection of demos from the At Dawn sessions, packaged together with demos for the band's 1999 debut album The Tennessee Fire. Tennessee Fire & At Dawn Demos is the second batch of officially-sanctioned MMJ rarities discs, following the 2004 Darla compilations The Sandworm Cometh and The Learning

The At Dawn demos originally came as a bonus disc packaged with the album, but quickly fell out of print. Those insatiable reverb-nuts clamored enough to make it come back.

As previously reported, the band would be wrapping up their European tour at this very moment, were it not for that pesky pneumonia. But James seems to be doing fine now, as he performed with M. Ward in Brooklyn last weekend. My Morning Jacket is already scheduled to play several of them: Coachella in April and Bonnaroo and High Sierra in June. Also, their performance on "Austin City Limits" will be broadcast on PBS on February 11.

And the band did manage to stave off illness to contribute a new song to the Elizabethtown-Volume II soundtrack, which hits stores today, February 7. My Morning Jacket (as their on-screen alter-ego "Ruckus") perform a version of "Same in Any Language", for the disc. Ya vohl!
