Pitchfork: Mount Eerie Plays All Over the World

It's been a solid two years-plus since we said goodbye to the Microphones and wassup to Mount Eerie. We're not so confused anymore, even after the ridiculous breadth of material released by Mr. Eerie, Phil Elverum, last year.

But, just for a moment, imagine how the poor kids in Matsumoto, Japan must be struggling to keep up. Maybe that's why Elverum is currently storming across Japan as Mount Eerie, handing out tour-only 7"s and clearing up confusion wherever he goes. Kinda like Johnny Appleseed.

As previously reported, the second half of aught-five brought a multitude of releases from Elverum, chief among them his first full-length under the Mt. Eerie name, No Flashlight: Songs of the Fulfilled Night (and its percussion-only cousin, The Drums From No Flashlight).

After his clip in Japan with Woelv (sexily pronounced "Ooo-uh-lv") and Nikaido Kazumi, Elverum will return briefly to the US before globetrotting his way to Nordic and Anglo territories. He'll hit the Dinosaur Jr.-curated date of All Tomorrow's Parties in May.
