Pitchfork: Mazarin and the Double Launch Tour

Mazarin is really just one dude-- Quentin Stoltzfus-- although on record he's had some guest musicians. Meanwhile, the Double used to be a duo but now they've doubled and become a quartet. They both make music that would sound good during your next acid trip, and they're heading out on tour together in support of records that came out in the second half of good ol' 2005. Mazarin's out for We're Already There and the Double are showing off Loose in the Air. Hey, those titles rhyme!

The bands will get a few days off from each other during SXSW, with each playing separate showcases and day parties. The Double are only scheduled to play two shows, while Mazarin are doing four. That's nothing, though-- Tapes 'n Tapes are doing eight!

Their tour will bring them to a deli, a rickshaw stop, a cowboy monkey, and a tree house. How do you perform inside of a cowboy monkey? Find out in Champaign, Illinois on March 31.
