Pitchfork and the Windish Agency Ready to Rock SXSW

Although it may seem hard to believe, South by Southwest isn’t just about schmoozing with publicists, loading up on schwag, and signing the next Vines to your major label subsidiary. It’s also about awesome bands playing for free under the Texas sun.

If you’re lucky enough to be traveling to Austin next week, but not lucky enough to have scored a badge or wristband, don’t worry: Pitchfork still loves you. Anybody can come to our day party, co-presented by our friends at the Windish Agency, taking place at Emo’s Annex, located at 600 Red River Street, on Friday, March 17. It’s open to the public and completely free. Bring grandma.

Our talent lineup is smokin’ hot. In addition to performances from Death Vessel, Jose Gonzalez, Art Brut, Love Is All, the Juan Maclean, Ladytron, Spank Rock, Matthew Dear, and Hot Chip, we’re also offering RjD2’s only solo set at SXSW. (He’ll perform with Blueprint as Soul Position at the Rhymesayers showcase at Emo’s Main Room later that night.)

Funnydude Patton Oswalt will host the festivities, and doors open at noon sharp.
