Belle & Sebastian Go Orchestral, Plan New Single
Stevie Jackson won't be the only one in a suit at this gig: Belle and Sebastian have announced that they will perform at the Hollywood Bowl on July 6, backed by the LA Philharmonic. It's their first time performing with a full orchestra. Fancy!B&S; have also extended their Life Pursuit tour (currently playing its way across our shores) to include five Australian dates in June. But before they trek to the southern hemisphere, Stuart Murdoch and co. head back home to Glasgow at the end of April for the Triptych festival, where they'll play alongside the likes of the Concretes, Vashti Bunyan, Edan, and Andy Votel.
"The Blues Are Still Blue", the second single from The Life Pursuit is due out April 3 in the UK. It will feature the B-sides "The Life Pursuit" and "Mr Richard", as well as a cover of "Whiskey in the Jar" (a traditional song-not a Thin Lizzy original!). The CD/DVD version of the single will also include the videos for "The Blues Are Still Blue" and "Roy Walker (Live at the Botanics)".
