The Walkmen Announce North American Dates

Whether you think of them as a rock band, struggling novelists, or near-obsolete audio equipment, the Walkmen have had a heaping load of news for you lately. First, there's A Hundred Miles Off, the band's third LP, coming to us on May 23 courtesy of Record Collection. Then there's the song-for-song remake of Harry Nilsson's 1974 album Pussycats, entitled Pussycats Starring the Walkmen and due out sometime later this year.

And let's not forget about the group's Great American Novel, John's Journey, which is about a guy named John who goes on a Journey, and not about Steve Perry. In yo' face, Steinbeck!

As any scholastic band should, the Walkmen have announced dates for a full-on North American tour that will coincide with A Hundred Miles Off's release. That will come after a stop at Coachella, a few East Coast college dates, a double-dip with legendary ass-stompers the Pogues, and a week of shows in England.
