Built to Spill Postpone U.S. Tour, Play B-ball Instead

So South by Southwest went off without a hitch, except for one Pitchfork staffer falling and breaking his ankle. (Feel better, Cory!) That and the fact that Built to Spill were forced to cancel their appearances at the fest, as well as postpone their American tour, which was supposed to kick off next month.

The time out is due to frontman Doug Martsch's recovery from recent eye surgery. According to The Idaho Statesman, Built to Spill plan to make up all dates in the fall, and they will still go forward with a West coast tour, reported to launch this June.

None of this affects the release of You In Reverse, Built to Spill's first album in five years, on April 11.
