Kieran Hebden and Steve Reid Hit the Road

An addendum to Marc Hogan's recent feature on pop music's fascination with image blurring: when is Kieran Hebden not Four Tet?

Though we would never presume to have the answer, we're pretty sure avant-jazz drummer Steve Reid has something to do with it. Domino Records released the duo's debut album, The Exchange Session, Vol. I, on February 27, and now Hebden and Reid are ready to show off their jazztronica chops off in public. Actually, the pair played a few shows together last year, but this time the tour will reach American shores before heading back to the cozy confines of Europe.

To further confuse you, we'll add some more Four Tet news to this story. Yesterday, Hebden made a live show recorded last year in Melbourne, Australia available as free mp3 downloads from the Four Tet website. Get 'em now, because they'll only be there "for a limited time," just like those used car sales.

Also, Hebden contributed a Four Tet remix of former Cure keyboard tickler Roger O'Donnell's solo song "For the Truth in You" to an O'Donnell remix collection due out April 16. Yeah, it's not exactly Madvillainy, but hey, Kieran...er, Four Tet knows what he's doing.
