Herbert, Four Tet Remix Jamie Lidell

On May 30, a remixed version of the 2005 electro-soul album (with a couple of live tracks from Paris and London thrown in for good measure) will be released by Warp. Left-feld dance experimentalist Matthew Herbert contributes his unorthodox wizardry to two tracks, Feist/Peaches collaborator Chilly Gonzales plays piano on "Mutiply (In a Minor Key)", and Four Tet, who knows a thing or two about remixes, visits "The City".

Jamie's got two new videos out now. "What's the Use?" seems to be inspired by classic "Batman" reruns. Holy capers! And "You Got Me Up" seems to be inspired by Jamie's cat. Holy whiskers!

In other Lidell news, the man will make an appearance in the "Warp Moves" event at the Brighton Festival this May. Warp Moves is a collaboration between the dance company Random Dance and the electronic duo Plaid. Envisioned as "part dance performance and part club night," Warp Moves also includes dance interpretations from British choreographer Darren Johnston and his company Array, to the music of Aphex Twin and Lidell. Lidell and Plaid will perform live sets as well, with Plaid accompanied by video artist Bob Jaroc.

Finally, Lidell will go on tour in the States next month, and his trek will include a date at the Coachella Festival. As many will soon find out, yes, Jamie Lidell is white.
