Futureheads Announce UK Tour, U.S. Release Details

Yesterday, the NME reported that the Futureheads will tour the UK in May and June; surely, this string of dates is the band's way of preparing for their July 29 performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival. It's also in support of their forthcoming second album, News and Tributes, but that's a minor matter.

The tour, which journeys through many an Academy, kicks off May 29, the same day News and Tributes comes out on 679 in the UK. Two warm-up shows will take place on the same day, May 18, as part of the Orange Evolution Festival. U.S. tours are in the works for mid-to-late June and, of course, late July.

"Skip to the End", Tributes' first single, lands slightly ahead of the album on May 15 in the UK. The U.S. version of the album is due June 13 on Vagrant/Startime International. Yes, you read that correctly. Vagrant Records, now home to not only the Hold Steady, but the Futureheads too!

The limited edition first run of the album will have last year's Area EP appended to it. So that tracklist will look like this:

01 Yes/No
02 Cope
03 Fallout
04 Skip to the End
05 Burnt
06 News and Tributes
07 Return of the Beserker
08 Back to the Sea

10 Favours for Favours
