Jesu Unloads New EP, Justin Broadrick Tours as Final

Some folks seem content to make modest, two-bedroom condo-sized rock. A few aspire to house-in-the-suburbs proportions. But for Justin Broadrick and Jesu, it's cathedral-size or bust. We're talking heavy, brooding, monolithic sonic structures buttressed by soaring organ cries and haunted by JB's detached, occasionally enraged vocals. Effing Biblical, dudes.

The tortured force behind Godflesh, Techno Animal, and God, and guitarist for the early incarnation of Napalm Death, Broadrick erected Jesu a few years back with the two-track Heartache EP, followed shortly by a self-titled full-length released by Hydra Head last year. That same label will consecrate the next Jesu offering: the four-track CDEP/12" Silver, which begins services on April 11.

Amen:

01 Silver
02 Star
03 Wolves
04 Dead Eyes

For a fun game, see how many nondescript indie rock band names you can create using words in those songs titles! Yay!

A man of many cloaks, Broadrick recently resurrected Final, a solo alias he first adopted at age 13, to play a series of European dates. He and his dark, ambient laptronica will return to that cathedral-laden continent in May. Jesu, meanwhile, were meant to tour the U.S. with Isis this spring, but could not secure work permits in time. They'll attempt a second coming later this year.
