Diplo, Matmos, Many More Added to Pitchfork Festival

We've been typing your ears off about this Pitchfork Music Festival for weeks (July 29 and 30! Union Park! Chicago!), yet up until now, virtually every artist announced could be loosely classified as "indie rock." But as you know, Pitchfork is an avid supporter of a wide variety of genres, styles, and sounds, and as such, we think it's high time we revealed a few of the hip-hop, jazz, electronic, and experimental artists who will be gracing this year's third stage, presented by the cool kids at Biz3 publicity.

We can't tell you everyone who will be performing on this stage just yet, but we are thrilled to reveal party-starting, baile funking DJ/producer Diplo and the first signing to his new Mad Decent label, Brazilian band Bonde Do Role; sample-happy sonic terrorists Matmos (featuring Pitchfork's own Drew Daniel); collaborator with Beans, DJ/Rupture, and TTC, remixer of Lady Sovereign, Les Georges Leningrad, and Pulseprogramming, and all-around revered Montreal DJ Ghislain Poirier; AACM jazz legends 8 Bold Souls; guitar reconstructionist and Battles member Tyondai Braxton; and ethereal chamber-folkies Tarantula A.D. Our friends at Summer Dance will also present sets by massively acclaimed German techno wizards Ada and Dominik Eulberg.

So now how's the Pitchfork Music Festival lineup looking? A little bit like this:

More additions to both the main stages and the Biz3 stage lineups will be announced soon. In the meantime, rest assured: Tickets are on sale now, and selling like marshmallows on Valentine's Day. Yes, we know it's only April, but once they're gone, there's no going back, and that might happen sooner than you think. Remember: At $20 for one-day passes, and a paltry $30 for our (limited) two-day passes, prices are almost stupidly cheap.

And yep, there'll be more than just music: As previously reported, our pals at Chicago-based independent community radio station WLUW will be setting up their legendarily gargantuan record fair onsite, and local art maniacs DEPART-ment will also roll out a massive craft and clothing fair. Plus stuff we haven't even announced yet!

Follow the link below for information and ticket sales, and we'll see you in Chicago in July.
