Blood on the Wall Tour With YYYS, Psychic Ills

Speaking to Pitchfork via email the very day the band hit the road with the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, BOTW singer/guitarist Brad Shanks revealed how psyched he is to tour with Karen O. & co.: "I have gone to see that band for years and love everything they do. I mean, very rarely can a band put out a record that you listen to the point that you know the words, and then when you go to see them you have a preconception of what you are going to get and then they are ten times better, and you're jumping up and down."

Finally, Shanks also told Pitchfork that Blood on the Wall tentatively plans to hit the studio in early June, and that "we have about four of the songs we are playing right now. And another six or seven on the back burner."

We're a little rusty on our math and, of course, this is all subject to radical post-tour changes, but those numbers just might add up to a follow-up to last year's scorcher Awesomer. Other than that, Shanks wrote, "we are hoping to do some recording when we can, maybe a seven inch or two. I've been talking with Cause Co-motion! in New York about doing a split, but nothing is set in stone. There is one song that I think a trombone would sound good on, but I swear that will be the only one." That would be, well, the awesomest.
