Four Tet Compiles DJ-Kicks, Tours Europe

Despite the fact that King of Convenience Erlend �ye and pop princess Annie have been some of the most recent compilers of !K7 Records' DJ-Kicks mixes, being Norwegian indie royalty is not a prerequisite for contribution to the celebrated compilation series. As a matter of fact, Four Tet mastermind and British citizen Kieran Hebden will blend songs from artists as disparate as Curtis Mayfield and Autechre to create his own hour-long entry into the DJ-Kicks series.

In addition to the aforementioned artists, the mix will also include tracks by Animal Collective, Madvillain, and, in the absence of David Berman and Judas Priest, David Behrman and Julian Priester Pepo Mtoto (you pronounce it). Extending the DJ-Kicks tradition of featuring exclusive tracks from compiling artists, the album will also feature the single "Pockets", Four Tet's only original release of 2006 so far. !K7 will release the album on June 27, and the complete tracklist is below, "�" and "�" free.

Hebden continues to collaborate live with free jazz drummer Steve Reid on a series of festival-packed European and Japanese tour dates. He is also in the process of setting up a series of DJ dates to coincide with the release of the DJ-Kicks comp, which we will keep you posted on as they are confirmed.
