Radiohead to Bring Deerhoof, Black Keys on Tour

Goddamn you, Radiohead! Not only is your forthcoming North American tour hitting venues that are, like, 10 times smaller than the ones you should be playing, but now you've gone and added two cool bands to your tour itinerary. Now it's going to be even harder to get tickets! (If that's even possible.)

Deerhoof will do the honors for California shows, while the Black Keys will hit Montreal, NYC, and Chicago. Boring-ass singer/songwriter Willy Mason will handle the rest of the trek.

Last night, Thom Yorke and bandmate Johnny Greenwood previewed three new tracks acoustically at a one-off London show. The gig that brought them out of their Oxford lair was, not surprisingly, in support of Friends of the Earth's climate campaign, the Big Ask.

Recordings of the tunes can be found on various fan sites, blogs, message boards, etc., but don't get too excited-- the fan doing the bootlegging was no pro. Brace yrself for some 96 bitrate-sounding shit.

As previously reported, Deerhoof are set to appear on the upcoming Danielson album Ships, which lands May 9 through Secretly Canadian. They also recently announced a few tour dates in the South in August:

08-11 Athens, GA - 40 Watt Club
08-12 TBA, North Carolina - TBA
08-13 TBA, North Carolina - TBA

The Black Keys' new six-track EP, Chulahoma - The Songs of Junior Kimbrough, came out today, May 2, on Fat Possum. The band also has plans to release its forthcoming as-of-yet untitled album on September 12 via V2 in Europe and Modular in Australia.
