Raconteurs Add More Dates, Change Name in Australia

With their debut album, Broken Boy Soliders, on its way May 16 via Third Man Records/V2, the Raconteurs are preparing to leave the nest. The Jack White/Brendan Benson/Greenhornes supergroup spread its wings in March and April with a UK mini-tour and a one-off performance at New York City's Irving Plaza; now they're ready to spend the summer buzzing around the festival circuit. In June, they'll make their West Coast debut at Los Angeles' Henry Fonda Theater. After that, it's off to Europe for Wireless, Roskilde, and a handful of other funfests. The Raconteurs will then return to the U.S. for a day of Lollapaloozing to wrap it all up.

Oh, and if you're headed to Australia, don't look for Broken Boy Soldiers or the 'Steady, As She Goes" single under the Raconteurs name. That's because the band was forced to change its moniker to the Saboteurs, due to a conflict with a Down Under jazz group who have been calling themselves the Raconteurs for years before Jack White came along.

At least they were able to settle the dispute without going to court. Lord knows Jack's got enough legal troubles on his hands.
