Pitchfork: Guillemots Tour North America, UK

Lurking in the shadows like a vampire (or maybe that flasher at the Oasis concert) come Birmingham's Guillemots. Unlike their headlining-stealing, arena-packing brethren, Guillemots have employed grassroots marketing and website downloads to get the word out on their atmospheric indie-pop. Their mini-album From the Cliffs (actually a combination of the band's two prior EPs), dropped outside of the UK in March, and beginning this week, the band will hit the road.

After a brief jaunt in North America, the quartet will head back to the warm, friendly embrace of the UK, where they'll prep for the summer festival circuit and a bunch of venues called "Academy." Must be some big cell phone company or something.
